Jacqueline Fernandez’s lifelong love for animals has grown into a mission to protect them. From a young age, her connection with animals was strong, “My bond with my cats was so strong—they were my anchors during the lockdown,” she shared.
Mumbai: “Seeing stray animals suffering deeply affected me,” Jacqueline explains. “I wanted to create a platform to help them with the care they deserve,” Through her YOLO foundation, Jacqueline has witnessed the resilience and love these animals show, despite coming from tough circumstances. “Every story is special—they show so much love and resilience.”
She believes that compassion needs to extend beyond pets like cats and dogs. “It’s sad to see other animals often overlooked or mistreated. Education is key—we need to teach people to be compassionate toward all animals.” Jacqueline’s commitment to this cause is further reflected in her decision to adopt a meatless diet.
“It’s heartbreaking to know that animal abuse still exists,” she says. “We need stronger laws and a cultural shift in how we treat animals.”
Jacqueline’s message on World Animal Day is one of awareness, compassion, and action. “Every animal deserves love and respect,” she affirms. Through her advocacy and the YOLO Foundation, she continues to fight for a better world for all creatures.
